Sunset Tour Delights

Our sunset kayak tours are a delight! Beaming with pride we can say that feedback from our guests has been tremendously fabulous! Our sunset tours are perfect for those with little or no paddling experience, pace is leisurely, guides are patient and helpful and being on the water as the sunsets is magnificent. If you are heading down for a sunset tour, be sure to make a day of your trip to Bundeena. Plan for a pre-paddle bush walk out to the coast (allow 2-3 hours) and then perhaps a pizza afterwards at the local Bundeena RSL club. Then at the end of the day, when you just can't drag yourself away, there are also numerous cozy BandBs where you can snuggle in for the night!

Bundeena to Audley Eco-Adventure

A great day out was had by all our our Bundeena to Audley Eco-Adventure last Saturday. Most of the group caught the Cronulla Bundeena ferry service - it only takes 20 minutes and Bundeena wharf is just a short stroll away from our base at Bonnie Vale

The trip left Bonnie Vale, Bundeena just after 9.30am with a group 12 of keen paddlers. The weather was absolute perfection - light winds, low 20s and run in tide. These sort of conditions always bring out the smiles :)
We stopped for a break at Warumbul before heading up the river and deeper into the Royal National Park.Picture the stunning scenery! Gorgeous deep blue skies, clear turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and a group of smiling faces. Hope the picture is clear in your mind...because there are no photos this time! Decided that the good canon was going to stay at home this trip - it has risked life and limb..and water damage ...far too many times...just how many lives does a camera have?? Anyway getting a shock, waterproof (theft..and loss would be good too) proof soon. So look out for some great shots in the near future.

Arrived at Audley around 1pm and cooked up a BBQ luncheon and enjoyed another beautiful area in our Royal National Park. Time for a dip, some sun bathing and relaxing before the bus trip back to Cronulla.I'm sure a perfect day was had by all!

Basin is the Best!

A kayaking trip to Cabbage Tree Basin has got to be up there with one of the best adventures in the Shire. The basin is a 7 metre deep body of water nestled between the coastal suburbs of Bundeena and Maianbar. Access is via a narrow meandering inlet bordered by mangrove forests and salt marsh. The Basin is fed by Cabbage Tree Creek - a 200 metre long narrow creek which is fun to explore.

The area has a long and fascinating history and being sheltered and relatively un-disturbed possesses great ecological wealth in terms of the estuarine plant and animal species located throughout.

Our kayaking trip on Thursday couldn't have been better. The weather was perfect - sunny and warm and there wasn't a breath of wind to be felt and with 2 marine scientists on the trip it was a great opportunity to find out more about the abundant marine life that call the Basin home.
